Lee Ford
Lee Ford is a small 40 acre country estate on the edge of Knowle village, about a mile from the seaside town of Budleigh Salterton. It has been the home of the Lindsay-Fynn family since 1946. The woodlands are full of spring and early summer flowering camellias, rhododendrons and azaleas. Tenants are welcome to explore the woodland area. From the woods there is direct access to a cycle/pedestrian path which is part of the National Cycling network.
Nearby Budleigh Salterton offers good shopping, several attractive pubs and a pleasant pebble beach set against red sandstone cliffs, known as the Jurassic coast. On the sea front can be found the very stone wall where Millais painted his famous picture ‘the Boyhood of Raleigh’. The larger seaside resort of Exmouth is 4 miles away. It boasts a magnificent sandy beach. For the sporting there is the East Devon Golf Club on the edge of Budleigh Salterton, the Cranford Club in Exmouth – tennis, squash and swimming with temporary membership available, while elsewhere there are excellent facilities for windsurfing, kite surfing, sailing, diving, riding and walking.
